Never Double-Book Your Lunch Break

Set up per-day lunch breaks so Session Clock automatically skips over them when suggesting your next session time.

The Problem

You're loading tomorrow's schedule into Session Clock. You add a 9:00 AM session, a 10:15 AM session, and then the app helpfully suggests 11:30 AM for the next one. But wait — that's your lunch break. So you manually bump it to 12:00 PM, and now every subsequent suggestion is off.

The Lunch Break setting fixes this entirely. Tell Session Clock when you eat, and it will never suggest a session during that window.

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings and find the Lunch Break section
  2. Toggle Enable Lunch Break on
  3. Tap the days you work to activate them — each day gets its own start and end time
  4. Adjust the times to match your actual break window (the default is 12:00–12:30)

That's it. From now on, when you add sessions to your schedule, the suggested start time will jump past your lunch window automatically.

Per-Day Flexibility

Not every day looks the same. Maybe you take lunch at 12:00 on weekdays but 1:00 on Saturdays. Or maybe you don't work Sundays at all. Session Clock lets you configure each day independently:

  • Monday–Friday: 12:00–12:30
  • Saturday: 13:00–13:30
  • Sunday: No break configured (day off)

When you tap a new day button, it copies the time from the last day you set up, so you only need to adjust the ones that differ.

How It Affects Scheduling

The lunch break setting works together with your time increment and session gap settings. When Session Clock suggests the next available start time, it checks whether that time falls inside your lunch window. If it does, it bumps the suggestion to the first available slot after your break ends.

You can still manually schedule a session during lunch if you need to — the setting only affects automatic suggestions, not hard restrictions.

Pair It with Work Hours

If you use Work Hours Tracking alongside Lunch Break settings, Session Clock gives you a complete picture of your day: hands-on time, transition time, and protected break time are all accounted for. Check out our Work Hours Tracking guide to learn more.
